About the Workshop:

Learn to make sculptural natural objects such as antlers, bones, and stones out of high-fire porcelain. Artist and instructor, Sarah Steininger Leroux will guide you through this two-day ceramic workshop to create your own nature-inspired porcelain sculpture. You will learn pinching, coiling and sculpture techniques as well as trimming and finishing techniques. All tools and materials as well as firings will be provided. This workshop is appropriate for all levels including students with no prior clay experience. Age 15 and older are welcomed to register for this class.

About Sarah:

Sarah has a bachelor’s of arts degree in ceramics and sculpture from Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana, and a masters of fine arts degree in arts organizational leadership from Seattle University in Seattle, Washington.  Sarah has a varied background in art and nonprofit work – working in two production ceramic studios, as an art center teacher, starting a small clothing design company, collaborating on a small arts fundraising organization, and working as a manager and director at several Seattle-area nonprofits for over fifteen years. Sarah founded Saltstone Ceramics, a community teaching studio and gallery in 2015, growing and nurturing it into a thriving community institution before selling it to her staff in 2023.

All supplies for this class are included. A signed waiver is required for this class. We will send it to you once you've registered. Classes are non-refundable, but are transferable. In the event the class is cancelled your payment will be refunded. We will be following the Washington State Covid-19 guidelines at the time of each class.

Moth & Myth is located in the Northwest Lofts Building on the second floor in Downtown Seattle in STE #217. We will be greeting you at the entrance to our floor outside the large yellow doors. Our address is 117 W Denny Way, Ste 217 Seattle WA 98119

Parking: 

There is an all day parking lot across the street from Moth & Myth that costs $10 for all day, the location is here. You can also find street parking. On Western Ave there is street parking for up to 4 hours for 0.50 cents an hour. Free street parking on Sundays.
