About Us

At Moth & Myth we draw inspiration from the natural world to create life-like paper replicas of primarily moths and butterflies. Our paper objects are cruelty free and vegan, offering an eco-friendly alternative to using their living counterparts. We are a small business founded by artists Kari-Lise Alexander and Redd Walitzki in 2015.

All of our paper products are created in-house in our Seattle studio, utilizing state of the art laser-cutting and printing technologies. Moth & Myth paper specimens are both beautiful displayed on their own, or as a wonderful resource empowering artists, crafters and educators. In our creations and brand philosophy, we are eco-aware and sustainability focused, continually finding ways to make our products part of the lower impact movement. We also regularly donate profits to various environmental organizations, including the Pollinator Partnership and the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation.

Moth & Myth originally grew out of the art practice and friendship of Redd and Kari-Lise. In 2015, Redd created an assortment of paper butterflies to use for a painting reference. Other artists and crafters responded so strongly to these paper-moths and butterflies that Redd began to offer them for sale for others to use and enjoy as well. Kari-Lise joined the partnership in 2018, and since then Moth & Myth has continued to innovate sustainable and cruelty free products, helping to build a world of unique objects which inspire and delight others.
